Electrical Designer:
Stoddard Power Systems, LLC seeks a skilled electrical designer/drafter to join our growing team of electrical power systems experts. In this role, you will be required to collaborate with our electrical engineers and customers to determine the project specifications, design technical drawings, and assist in the technical development of a wide range of electrical power system projects.
Electrical Designer Responsibilities:
- Translate design requirements into specific configurations and technical specifications.
- Design schematics and wiring diagrams, wire lists, electrical system architecture.
- Develop electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Create electrical designs and coordinate with other disciplines to create a coordinated set of construction documents.
- Meeting with clients and engineers to determine the project requirements.
- Ensuring that the electrical plans meet all regulatory and safety requirements.
- Resolving any electrical planning issues and developing effective solutions.
Electrical Designer Requirements:
- A degree or certification in electrical drafting, drafting design, electrical engineering, or similar.
- A minimum of two years’ experience as an electrical drafter.
- American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) certification is preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
- Ability and interest to learn electrical theory and power system design engineering.
- Ability to produce complex engineering drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment
- Understanding of a range of electrical generation and transmission systems.
- Knowledge of electrical safety regulations, building codes, and health standards.
- Experience with power system design is strongly encouraged, but not required.
- Experience with design and specification of electrical system components (power and controls) and control panel layout and design
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication and collaborative abilities.
- Experience taking drawings from conceptual design through construction documents.
- Good understanding of electrical components and configurations.
- Experience in the establishment and management electronic drawing filing systems including x-refs drawing sets.
- Organized and self-starting with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
